A family Christmas show aimed at young children, The Elves and the Shoemaker featured a variety of larger-than-life puppet characters as well as physical comedy and slapstick. The music needed to be accessible to young children, including a sing-along chant to conjure up the elves.
This show also had an alternative version for children with special educational needs; presented on the floor rather than the stage, with minimal set and lots of tactile interaction, to a small audience. The music needed to be repurposed and gentler new songs created for this version.
