In a small coastal village, the women wait for their men to return from the sea. When one man doesn't, Claire is left neither a wife nor a widow.

SOLE is an experiment in community theatre; a 50-minute piece co-devised and shaped in rehearsal by a community chorus of 16 local women.

Sound design features 17 onstage radios as well as several original songs performed by the chorus (including a 'verbatim'-style setting of the Shipping Forecast).

For one lead female actor and a flexible female chorus.

Premiered at Arts at the Old Fire Station, Oxford, 2018.
